On the surface, The Firekeepers is a story of a neglected historical chain of events that led to the forced removal of the Cherokee people from their ancestral lands to march on the Trail of Tears.

Underneath, and within that account are the stories of a resilient people who lived lives of balance and thrived, strengthened by the close ties of their society where women and men held equal roles.

Through the lens of historically-inspired Cherokee characters, joined by non-native allies, each discovers their unique role in the resistance against removal.

This is a story that invites audiences to embark on a transformative odyssey. It is a call to embrace another perspective, and be guided by the enduring legacy of the Cherokee people.
